Are Cherry Trees Self Pollinating?

There are certain types of cherry trees which are in fact self-pollinating, such as sour cherries, sweet cherries, and duke cherries. This means that those who want to grow these types of cherries at home will not need to plant more than one of them in order to grow the cherries.

Although cherry trees will most likely grow faster and with more cherries on them if you have two or more together, it is very possible to have just one cherry tree and still grow them effectively.
