Although it is true that salmon belongs to the same order of Salmoniformes, they are two completely different fish. While both of these fish are often referred to as “salmonoids”, there are in fact some distinct differences between the two.

Even though they belong to the same family of Salmonidae, these two fish are not exactly the same in every way as some people believe. These salmonoid fish usually prefer cooler temperatures and can be found in many different places, including the Arctic Ocean where not just anything can survive.
