While it is common practice to always wash fruits and vegetables before consuming, some argue against this practice for certain fruits because that can absorb water and become mushy.
What about in the case of raspberries? Should raspberries be washed before eating?
Our opinion is that yes, raspberries should always be washed. There are numerous pesticides which are often using in the growing process, as well as bugs that can come in contact with the berries before they get into your hands.
But what about them absorbing water and getting soggy?
This is a real problem, and the only real solution is to only wash your raspberries immediately before you eat them, and do not store them at room temperature. This will prevent them from absorbing too much water and losing their texture.
