Some gardeners, especially ones in more urban settings, have limited options as to where they can plant and how much sun those locations get throughout the day.
Fortunately, not all plants require full sunlight to grow, and some will grow just fine in the shade.
But what about raspberries? Will raspberries grow in the shade?
Within reason, yes they will. You can’t exactly stick a raspberry plant in your pitch-black bedroom closet and expect it to grow, but raspberries can grow just fine with partial shade. That is, they don’t need to be exposed to the full sun all day in order to grow, although full sunlight is what allows them to grow the best.
Raspberries do better when they have more light, and when they are planted in soft, non-alkaline soil.
