Asparagus can be cooked to the point of being crunchy but it all depends on your own personal preference. If you wish to eat crunchy asparagus you should let it cook for around six minutes instead of the usual 5. It will of course be important to make sure that you put the asparagus spears into boiling water and reduce the heat so that it can simmer.
After the spears are done you will be able to add a dash of salt and pepper and whatever else to them for flavoring. Some people prefer their asparagus to be crunchy while others like it soft. If you prefer your asparagus to be crunchy though, you will definitely want to let it cook through for an extra minute or so.
