Is Tuna An Oily Fish?

Although it is true that tuna is canned in oil or in some cases water, it is not typically considered to be an “oily fish”. It does however contain a significant amount of omega-3 fatty acids which are very important for numerous brain functions and for the body as a whole.

This type of fish also has quite a bit of protein and is very good for issues with inflammation which acne or gout sufferers may have problems with. It is important to consider the fact that canned tuna does not have as much nutritional value as fresh tuna because of the oil it is put in, so if you want to get as much out of it as possible you will have to make sure you get yours fresh and cook it.
