Spinach is able to block an excessive amount of iron from entering into the bloodstream which can be dangerous over time. Although it is true that iron is necessary for a healthy body, it is something that you can in fact get too much of.

One of the reasons that spinach is considered to be such a healthy food by so many people is because it is able to do a lot of great things for the body with all of its antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties as well as the ability to block iron to a certain extent.
