Although cats can in fact eat raw salmon, it will be important to think about cooking it before you give it to them, simply because it could contain potentially dangerous parasites which you will not want your cat to ingest. The same goes for dogs and other types of pets which you may have at one point or another thought about feeding salmon too.

While these parasites are not extremely common, they can still be present in raw salmon which is why you may not want to take the chance of feeding it to them raw, as much as they might enjoy it. By taking the time to cook the salmon first, you will be able to decrease any possibly adverse effects.
