Is Lobster A Crustacean?

Lobster is technically classified as a crustacean and is part of a larger group called arthropods. Some of the different sea creatures that are considered to be crustaceans include shrimp, crabs, barnacles, and krill. There are tens of thousands of species that fit into this group with lobsters being only one of them. There are certain crustaceans which are considered to be aquatic animals like lobsters and others which are considered to be terrestrial and parasitic like fish lice or tongue worms.

This particular crustacean is considered to be a high-prize culinary delight for many people and is served at many different seafood restaurants around the world. Lobsters come from the family Nephropidae and are extremely important economically because of the fact that they tend to cost so much at restaurants and in supermarkets.
