Is Garlic A Monocot Or Dicot?

Garlic is officially considered to be a monocot because of the fact that it has a single leaf when it begins to sprout. Some of the other examples of monocots include onions and corn. Dicots are foods which have two leaves when they begin to sprout, so they are put into this particular classification.

A few of the different foods that are considered dicots include cucumbers, squash, and beans. Those who grow these foods, including garlic, from seeds will easily be able to tell the difference between a dicot and a monocot because of the number of leaves that appear when they start to sprout.
