Does Garlic Go Bad?

Over time garlic starts to dry up and shrivel, though it never really “goes bad” in the same sense as most other foods. It is not susceptible to the same bacteria that other food is when it is left out for extended periods of time.

In order to keep your garlic as flavorful as possible though, you will need to make sure that you store it properly. Otherwise you will run the risk of losing a lot of the flavor as well as some of the nutritional value that it has to offer. When garlic is stored correctly, it will retain its flavor and last for a very long time so you don’t really have to worry about using it right away.
