Does Butter Contain Saturated Or Unsaturated Fat?

Butter contains a very high amount of saturated fat, which is exactly why it is generally considered by most to be unhealthy. Although this is true, butter does not contain any carbohydrate or trans-fat which are also considered to be unhealthy and can contribute to weight gain over time.

Those who are on a diet and/or are trying to lose weight will want to keep from eating too much of certain foods that contain a lot of saturated fat such as butter. Although it may be a very delicious and highly versatile food used in cooking and also as a condiment, it can easily boost cholesterol and cause other health problems if eaten in excess over time.
