Can Walnuts Lower Cholesterol?

Walnuts can be highly beneficial for those who eat them on a regular basis for a number of reasons, including the fact that they have been known to lower cholesterol levels in those who have problems with it.

The main reason that walnuts are so good at helping with bad cholesterol is because they contain very high levels of omega-3 fatty acids which are also found in certain types of fish such as tuna. This type of fat has been known to lower levels of triglycerides which is another type of fat that is naturally found in the bloodstream.

Although it is still currently unknown just how omega-3 fatty acids are able to prevent the rapid growth of plaque in the arteries as well as blood clots, it is clear that they are able to do so in a very significant way.
