Can Garlic Cause Flatulence?

Garlic has been known to cause flatulence for some people because of the fact that it is high in certain starches that are difficult for the body to digest. Although it is not high in fiber like many other foods that tend to cause flatulence, these starches are enough to disrupt the gastrointestinal tract which sometimes leads to flatulence.

When the body has trouble breaking down the undigested portions of the garlic that is consumed, it can cause internal problems which sometimes present in the form of gas and flatulence. Those who are prone to flatulence will want to think about limiting the amount of garlic they consume.
