Can Butter Cause Heartburn?

There are certain foods which you will want to avoid if you are prone to heart burn, such as caffeinated drinks like coffee and soda. It will also be important to avoid eating too much butter because it is mildly to highly acidic, depending on which kind you get. Unsalted butter is considered to be an alkaline on the pH scale whereas salted butter is highly acidic.

Those who are trying to get as much relief from their heartburn as possible will want to take the time to figure out which foods they should be eating and which they should stay away from. Along with butter you will also want to keep your distance from wine, spaghetti with sauce on it, liquor, and sweets. All of these foods have been known to aggravate heart burn or acid reflux in people who already have it.
