Are Raspberries Annual Or Perennial?

An annual plant is one which produces fruit for one year, and must then be replanted for the next season. A perennial plant, on the other hand, will produce fruit for many years without having to be replanted. If you’re planting a garden, it’s important to know which plants are which, so that you can plant accordingly.

So what about raspberries? Are raspberries annual or perennial?

Raspberries are actually perennials!

However, it should be noted that while the plant will product fruit during the second year and beyond, individual canes typically only produce fruit for one growing season and should be pruned at the beginning of the next season.
