Virtually all animals that people own enjoy being fed snacks from time to time, and horses are no different. The most common treat given to horses is probably apples, but there are some other fruits and vegetables that horses enjoy. However, before feeding anything to your horse it’s important to know whether or not it will be safe for the animal to eat.
But what about pears? Are pears bad for horses?
If given in moderately small quantities, pear are perfectly healthy for horses to eat. Just like with apples, however, pears should only be given as a treat in moderation because too many of them can overload the horse’s digestive system with sugar.
