A diuretic is any substance which increases the body’s natural output of urine. While you can buy artificial diuretics from a drug store, there are also many fruits and vegetables which function as natural diuretics.
But what about pears? Are pears a diuretic?
Yes, they are!
Although not a powerful one, pears do function as a mild diuretic. The primary reason for this is a substance they contain called pectin. This pectin is known to increase urine output, and is also helped by the high water content of pears.
