Are Limes Acidic Or Alkaline?

Limes are considered to be an acidic fruit, simply because of how it ranks on the pH scale. The pH scale measures acidity and it can be used to determine whether or not certain foods are acidic or alkaline. Those fruits which are alkaline, such as apples, bananas, and strawberries, have a much less acidic content and are therefore referred to as “alkaline”.

If you have a problem with acid reflux, it might be a good idea to avoid acidic fruits such as oranges, limes, and lemons, simply because they will only exacerbate this problem. Limes should definitely be avoided by those who have acid reflux, because they are highly acidic.
