Are Blueberries Always Blue?

The color is right in the name, blueberry, and you might suspect that blueberries will always be blue when they are ripe.

But how true is this? Are blueberries always blue?

Nope, not always!

Blueberries are typically blue-ish, however they can range from light purple to a very dark blue that is almost black.

The color does not necessarily indicate how they will taste, or how ripe they are.
