Are Bananas a Citrus Fruit?

Bananas are not considered to be citrus fruits. Although bananas grow in much the same conditions as many citrus fruits such as oranges, they are really nothing alike in terms of their own characteristics.

This fruit comes from the genus of “Musa” and grows on the largest herbaceous plant in the entire world. Examples of citrus fruits include oranges, grapefruits, and limes. These are fruits with high acidity levels, unlike bananas which are very low on the pH scale which measures overall acidity.

There are a number of differences between bananas as citrus fruits like the ones listed above, including their acidity level.
